  • A Summer of Fun!

This year we had a very successful Summer Reading.  We had 285 children visit the library as part of summer reading.  They played games, listened to stories, painted pictures, wrote their own books, learned about bats, made planispheres and learned about the stars, made a solar oven and smores, learned to cook and try new foods, learn about semaphore and knot tying,  explored the microscopic world, and excavated dinosaurs.  All of the children were given the opportunity to participate in Book Bingo.  The object was to complete a bingo card featuring books of their choice from several different categories.  Book Bingo encouraged kids to be brave and try new genres of books that they may have been missing.  We had  8 kids complete their bingo cards and draw for prizes!

It was a busy summer.  We had some great community partners that helped  us make it the best year ever!

McCone County Library would like to thank the following businesses!

Town Pump provided a $1000 grant that paid for most of the snacks and supplies. MidRivers provided a grant for $500 that paid for prizes and goodies on our final day. Circle H Photography, Lehner Insurance, and Round Town Customs provided t-shirts to celebrate their experience.

We would also like to thank the following individuals who pitched in to help with our large group: Nancy and Remy Stempel, Kieryn Stanley, Aubrey Moos, Saylor Hanson,  Heather Blakeslee, Marista Heide, and Maddy Black!  Your was amazing and very appreciated!

We'd love to hear from you!
