In 2020 we received a grant from the American Library Association in conjunction with the Association of Rural and Small Libraries. On our first round of this grant, we promoted civic literacy with a collection of books on Civics and American History. We held a conversation in our library with Representative Jerry Schillinger and his constituents. This year we received another grant, and we chose to promote music education. Our newest collection of CDs, DVDs, and music books for all ages has been circulating in our community for a month. We hope that you have found your way to us and begun to explore some of the new resources that our library has to offer.
The collection has a little bit for everyone covering music history, theory, psychology, biographies, anthropology, and enjoyment. We have board books for babies, picture books for children, reference books for kids and adults and hundreds of audio/visual items.
We will be hosting another conversation, this time about how our community can actively promote and support our local music program. Please join Mrs. Sonja Meissner and me at the library at 5:30 pm on Thursday May 19th to talk about all thing’s music. Come armed with your questions, concerns, and curiosity. We will provide light refreshments and look forward to seeing you there. You can RSVP by clicking on the form above.
