  • Oh the Books You Will Read!

So, I think we can collectively say that 2020 is the worst year ever, except regarding books.  There are so many good books that have been published this year and even more that are still on the way.  A recent news article stated in September there was at least one Tuesday (books almost always come out on Tuesdays for some weird reason) where 600! books were released… in a single day and not even all political.  That is some crazy numbers due to publishers postponing the releases of books, but then making the decision to release them anyway, even if things are not quite back to normal.  I am guessing warehouse space may have played a factor in that one.

Some of our favorite authors have books coming out this month.

Ken Follett has a prequel to The Pillars of the Earth set at the end of the Dark Ages.  Yes Please!

Sue Miller – The Good Mother – has a new book with some interesting themes based on her own family experiences.

Yaa Gyassi – Homegoing – continues her exploration of the African Diaspora with a story about a Ghanian family in Alabama. If you have not read her yet, you are in for a real treat.  She is a marvelous, lyrical, beautiful, and thought-provoking writer.

Christina Baker Kline – The Orphan Train – continues to write challenging books with her new book taking place in the 18th century Australian Outback.

Ruth Ware – In a Dark, Dark Wood – has another twisty, turny, thriller on the way.

Fredrik Backman –A Man Called Ove – has another book that will be sure to please almost everyone.

For those who loved Kitchen Confidential – David Chang’s new book is sure to delight the foodie in us all.

For Cormoran Strike fans – Cuckoo’s Calling – there is a new Robert Galbraith.

For Eragon fans, a new Christopher Paolini is coming this month. It is a full book, too.

For fans of Vince Flynn, a new book is here in September.  Vince Flynn passed away a few years ago, but the character lives on through writer Kyle Mills.

Fans of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, your exceedingly long wait is over with a new book by Susanna Clarke.

Jodi Picoult – My Sister’s Keeper – finally has a new book and it is coming this month!

Longmire fans rejoice – Craig Johnson has a new book this month.

Nicholas Sparks – Yes that Nicholas Sparks, has finally ended his drought and his new book is here this month!

That is just September.  Coming in the next few months are books by heavyweights David Baldacci, Rick Riordan, Tana French, V.E. Schwab, Elin Hildebrand, John Grisham, Lee Child, Michael Connelly, Janet Evanovich, and of course James Patterson.

So, good reading to you all and I hope that a great book will find its way to you.

We'd love to hear from you!
